1-Wire to Loxone Miniserver via Extension
Loxone Miniserver and 1-Wire Extension
With this connection, 1-Wire sensors are connected via the Loxone 1-Wire extension. The following components can be operated and read out:
- Temperature sensors (DS18S20, DS18B20)
- 1-Wire Multisensors
(based on the Maxim chip DS2438) - iButton key
Advantages and limitations of the Loxone 1-Wire Extension
If you connect and read out our 1-Wire sensors via the 1-Wire Extension from Loxone, there are advantages and limitations.
Advantage:
- The 1-Wire software functions of Loxone can be used directly
- No external software necessary
Limitations:
- Only a few sensor types can be integrated
- Maximum 20 1-Wire devices can be integrated
- No inexpensive 1-Wire digital inputs or digital outputs can be connected
- No universal analog modules can be used for input and output
- Spatial limitation: the 1-Wire network must be connected directly to the Loxone 1-Wire Extension
- Limited power supply from the 1-Wire Extension, for example: for Air Quality Sensors an additional power supply is necessary
- Purchase price 1-Wire Extension

All products of the category "Temperature Sensors" can be connected and operated. For example the following versions: Temperature sensors with connection cable (cable sensors) and for wall mounting / surface mounting.
1-Wire Multisensors
Multisensors can be evaluated for the detection of temperature and humidity. For example, the following multisensors for temperature and humidity measurement for residential and commercial, flush and surface mounting.
1-Wire Air Quality Sensors
Note: Since the Air Quality Sensors have a higher current consumption than all other sensors due to their design, we recommend that you connect a 1-Wire Hub (e.g. 1-Wire Hub III) between the Loxone Extension and the Air Quality Sensor. This ensures a sufficient power supply and thus stable operation for up to 8 air quality sensors.
