This impressive building was constructed in the late 19th century as the residence of Ludwig Momm, a prominent merchant, and is now a listed historic monument. The villa is well-known far beyond the borders of Kaufbeuren, celebrated for its architectural splendor and rich history. Ludwig Momm was a successful entrepreneur who was highly regarded in the region for his trading activities and his influence on the local economy. His dedication and vision contributed significantly to the development of Kaufbeuren, leaving a lasting legacy that is vividly embodied in the architecture of the Momm Villa. For ESERA, this move represents more than just a change of premises.

Our Roots and Vision
The story of ESERA began in 2009 when our founder, inspired by the digitalization of his own home, established the company as a sole proprietorship. The experience gained from implementing a private smart home project in 2002 laid the foundation for the development of our first sensors and actuators, which remain a core part of our product portfolio to this day.
From Start-Up to GmbH
The growing demand for professional solutions quickly led to a specialization in the development and production of high-quality products for the smart home market. In 2014, the company was restructured into ESERA GmbH, accompanied by the move to modern office facilities on Adelindastraße in 2015. At the same time, we began developing our controller and gateway solutions, which form the backbone of our current product lineup.
Technological Expertise in the 1-Wire System
ESERA has deep roots in the 1-Wire bus system, which was already a technological pioneer in the smart home sector in the early 2000s. To further enhance its capabilities, we have continuously improved our 1-Wire system. A major milestone was the European patenting of our 1-Wire plug-and-play system "Auto-E-Connect". This patented system enables simple, fast, and secure integration of sensors and actuators, significantly advancing the 1-Wire standard. Today, ESERA is the last active patent holder for parts of the 1-Wire system.
